"The objective is for members to look, listen and learn in the hope that the process will help them to improve the quality of their decision-making when they reach the peaks of their occupations."

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh

The first Commonwealth Study Conference was held in Oxford in 1956 as a one-off experiment to study "The Human Problems of Industrial Communities within the Commonwealth and Empire". However its members found the experience so valuable that they determined to make it available to subsequent generations. There have now been ten such conferences, each with the same basic aim of providing a unique opportunity for those with the potential to rise to positions of influence to learn from the experiences - both good and bad - of others. The next Commonwealth Study Conference will take place in the United Kingdom in 2011. For more information please visit the http://www.csc2011.org
